PART 2, CA coast vacation, November 2013

We left Pacific Grove and drove the short distance over to northern Monterey to the Monterey Dunes area right at sunset.  Same spot we stayed back in early May before Evie was born, just a different townhouse.  We stayed in the left-most portion of the townhouse unit below.  We stayed again, with our friend Sarah, Rich, Emily, & Johnny.

 We made a big dinner each night.  Emily liked to help me make desserts. 

 Emily and her cousin, who lives nearby, helped make this awesome turtle!  Jax was given this wetsuit that used to be Johnny's.  He LOVES it.  Totally didn't want to take it off.  He thought we was just the coolest cat around.  The water was too cold for him to get into, but he didn't mind just cruising the beach.

 Typical evening...people everywhere!  Lol!

 The Daddies tried to get a bit of surfing in.  The sons liked to be part of the action.  Justin and Rich often work together (hydrology), so it was cute to see them helping each other with the wetsuits too!

CA coast vacation, November 2013, part 1

Right after all our family left from Evie's baptism the four of us loaded up the Subaru and headed west to the coast for an entire week!  It was a much needed vacation.  In this first part of the trip we rented the cutest little house in historic Pacific Grove (right beside Monterrey). 

We walked everywhere from this house.  It was just a few blocks down to the ocean.  Can I tell you how much I LOVE the double BOB stroller?!?  Fantastic investment!

Below is the Carmel beach.  Evie missed out on the family picture b/c she finally fell asleep in the stroller.

We spent some time at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  My favorite are the sea otters.

November was the month we really started "solid" foods with Evie.  Here's what she thought of applesauce.

 

Evie's baptism, November 2013

We had a wonderful first weekend of November as family & friends came together for Evie's baptism.  We spent sunny Saturday afternoon on the beach at Tahoe.

 And had the baptism on Sunday at St. Teresa of Avila Church.  Uncle Trevor and my friend, Sarah, are Evie's Godparents.

And the actual baptism.  She was doing great until some of the holy chrism (oil) got in her eyes....Poor thing, but she smelled wonderful the rest of the day from it!

 Giving blessings, burning Evie's baptismal candle and welcoming Evie as the newest member of St. Teresa's.  She fell asleep at this point and I just LOVE the picture of Justin and I looking down on her!
