Hello Big Eyes!

As of late, I do believe Jax's eyes are changing...although I know you can't tell from this picture. They are more blue on the outside and turning a little more green on the inside. I have green eyes and I think it would be so cool for Jax Green to have green eyes!

Working Momma

So this is my 3rd week back to work. Justin's Momma, now known as Mammie Sharon, graciously came up to stay with Jax the during my first week back because daycare didn't start yet. I think they both enjoyed the time spent together.

No overnight trips for me in the near future, but I did have to make a day trip out to visit the drill rig in Dixie Valley. Fun stuff. Although...it felt very alien to drive over 100 miles away from your little baby boy!

A glimpse of mud rotary well drilling.

How you take a sample of the earth from several hundred feet below land surface :o)

Growth chair @ 3 months

So I'm starting this way too late, but I'm doing it anyway. I'll be taking pictures of Jax sitting in the glider in his room to illustrate his growth to those that don't see him that often....and for those of us that do, it will be fun to compare because sometimes it's hard to tell!

This is Jax at 3 months old, as the picture was taken on 1/6/2011.

What is a boy?

Jax was sent this card recently and I really liked it.

What is a Boy?

He's a bundle of energy
dressed up in blue,
Who'll capture your heart
and then steal it from you.

He's an action-packed guy who takes off like a rocket --
Jams twenty-odd things
into one pocket!

He'll stand there,
the picture of innocent youth
With mud on his knees
and a missing front tooth...

He's a mixture of mischief,
adventure, and fun
Who's curious about everything
under the sun.

He's a builder, a dreamer,
a treasure, a joy,
And the hope of tomorrow --
all this is a boy!

FAIR WARNING: IF YOU ARE PRONE TO MOTION SICKNESS WHILE VIEWING VIDEOS OF MOVING OBJECTS, PLEASE WATCH WITH CAUTION!

These are a few videos of a sweet looking powder day that Justin and Levi had at Homewood back in December. Looks like fun!

What was I thinking?

So I'm trying to get my head back in the game here at work. I've been working my way through all the unread e-mail, the stacks of papers on my desk that need filing and getting up to speed with where my current projects are. As I was updating my calendar I couldn't help by marvel at my stupidity here at work right before Jax was born. Take a look at my calendar...I was out in the field all by myself September 27-29th measuring wells. I also looked up the temperatures during those three days and they were 95, 96 and 97 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively. Had I known I would be going into labor 5 days later you can bet I would not have been out in the heat measuring water levels! Geesh!

Table manners

We are working on Jax's table manners, but he's doing pretty well!

First publication as a Huntington

While on maternity leave, my first significant publication was released with my married name. I worked on this report for several years, so it's cool to see it finally published.

Christmas Wii dancing

I was able to burn off a few of those delicious Christmas cookies while Wii dancing with a few cousins at Aunt Linda's. This is Jennie, Amy, Taylor, Kayden, Kate & I. Fun stuff!

I swipped your video, Aunt Linda...thanks!
