Girl's night!

A bunch of us girls got together in Reno last night for the premier of new Sex and the City movie. We got all gussied up, had dinner at the Silver Peak and went to the late show. Amazing how many people, mostly women, were all dressed up and in a movie theater at 10:30 pm. I've only ever seen a few of the Sex and the City episodes, so I can't say that I'm a big fan of the series, but the movie, I have to say, was pretty good. I didn't have my camera (only because I couldn't find it), but there are pics floating around of us girls that I'll post once they make their way to me.

Mom

Today my Mom had her gal bladder removed. The latest update from Dad is that the surgery was successful, everything went well, and Mom is in recovery. Thank heavens! Here's to a speedy recovery, Mom! I love you!

Kinko's

Why should I have to pay for copies at Kinko's when I had to, in horrific detail, explain to the person behind the counter exactly how to open the file, how to select the images, how to move the images, how to save the file, and how to print the file?

Wedding invitations are almost done. I am a fairly crafty/scrapbooking type person who gets enjoyment out of cutting and gluing paper....but I have to admit, I'll be happy when I can put these puppies in the mail!

A day at the park

Yesterday Eric and his family came down for a cookout. The Garrett and Parker liked the face on the tree in the backyard.

In between the rain showers we all jumped on a bike and went to the park down the street.

Justin and I planted our first garden together. It's actually my first all-out garden. My Dad and I used to plant green onions in various places in the backyard...which I would inevitably cut down by accident when I was mowing the grass. But Justin and I should have everything from strawberries to zucchini to TONS of hot chili peppers! Yum!

Bike to Work

May is "ride your bike to work" month in Nevada. So this morning I put my 2 wheels to the pavement on the way to work. Now living on the north side of town, I have to determine a new route from last year. I'll have to look at a map, but I think I have a few more options for a more scenic ride.

May Hail

You know you live in the desert when you get really excited when it rains! All the neighbors come out to watch it. It hardly ever rains...but I've never seen it hail in Nevada...
