Being a federal employee, this made me laugh, but it's sadly very true and hits home.

Playmate shuffle

In early August, while Jax was napping, I pulled the playmate out to see if Evie would like playing with it.  I went into the laundry room for a second and when I came back in I found Jax dancing to the playmate music!  Then it turned into the first time I'd say Jax actually played with Evie...doing the playmate music shuffle.

Jax & Daddy week

While Evie and I were in PA, Justin and Jax had a Daddy/Son week at home.  They had a great time together eating dinner in the livingroom, going for bike rides on the golf course and even went for a big hike to Frog Lake. 

Evelyn meets PA family

I was home on maternity leave for 12 weeks and felt that I should take advantage of my time off to visit some family and introduce Evie.  So Evie took her first plane ride and we were off to PA.  We had a great time seeing family, showing Evie off (she was often the center of attention), and even getting to spend a few days at camp (with a boat ride!).  PA is a beautiful green place in the summertime!  

Happy Birthday, Daddy!!

We celebrated Justin's bday a few days early because Evie and I went to Pennsylvania...more on that later.  But we got Daddy a special jamoca almond fudge ice cream cake for a pre-celebration.

Grandparents

I'm kinda out of order here, but we hosted all the grandparents for an Evie meet-n-greet in mid-June....basically over what should have been Evie's due date, but she was 1 month old at the time.  Mammie Sharon & Pappy Ron overlapped with Mimi & Pappy Denny for a few days.  The Pappy's rode Harleys with Justin and saw some beautiful country while here.  Jax had a blast getting so much attention from all his grandparents.  We celebrated Father's Day and Mimi's birthday too.

Riding the train @ NV Railroad Museum

The NV Railroad Museum pulls their refurbished trains out of the garage a few times each year to offer rides to the community.  The fourth of July weekend was one of them.  The lines weren't too long and we got a nice long ride!  Jax seemed to really like it and Evie slept right on through.

 This video is when the engine disconnect from the front of the train, switched trackes and re-hooked up to the rear of the train to pull us back to the depot.  They said this way the wear the tracks more evenly by having the train travel the little tracks in opposite directions.

Early July

Here's what was going on with us in early July--

 

Little baby feet are simply my favorite thing!!

We spent the 4th of July on our friend, Eric's boat on Tahoe.  This was Evie's first boat ride!  She seemed to love it, just like her Mom b/c she slept for a solid 4 hours while on the boat!
