September videos

A few videos from September.

Potty Training Bootcamp

In early August we put Jax through a potty training bootcamp prior to him starting in the "Rockets" room at school.  We had heard the head teacher was a not very sympathetic to the non-potty trained kiddo and Jax wasn't showing much interest in the potty to date.  So, one jumbo package of Thomas the Train underwear, one little potty and a weekend of wearing no pants and we had a Jaxman that was using the potty!  Mostly.

So Jax transitioned into the Rockets room the same day Evie started at daycare........I cried my eyes out the entire drive to work.  I had never, and I mean never, been in the car without Evie since she was born!  I felt so alone and didn't like it at all.  She was stressing me out by not taking a bottle and for a while I was secretly happy about it b/c I knew she liked me better, but when it got down to the wire and realized she may not eat if she didn't start taking a bottle, I got real nervous.  But just like she always does, she surprised me and from day one had no problems drinking a bottle at school.  And still liked me at home!
And that Rockets teacher we were so worried about.......She developed a soft spot for our Jaxman and when she resigned 2 weeks ago to stay at home with her kids, this is the note that came home in Jax's lunchbox.

Push bike

Jax was handed down a push bike this summer to start working on his balance skills.  He's quite amazing at it.  Here, he had to take a pit-stop in someone's front lawn for a drink.  I guess the rock just looked to comfy to pass up.

Yosemite Fire

We felt the affects of the Yosemite Rim fire for several week in late August/early September.  The smoke was quite incredible, actually.  Visibility was at time extremely low and just choking to breath.  Several morning there was a thin layer of ash on our cars.  After the first week it got REAL old real fast...we couldn't be outside.  The kids were cooped up at school and at home.  We're sure glad that fire is out!
