American Saturday Night

What a night!?! Sarah and I won tickets on the radio to the Brad Paisley concert with special guest Dierks Bentley. Yes, maybe I'm a bit of a hick, but I really don't want to hear it because it was a GREAT concert! Country music in general, but especially Brad Paisley, writes songs that the average citizen can relate to, appreciate and enjoy.

We met at the Outback Steakhouse in Reno where they fed us lunch--then hopped on the party bus over to CA north of Sacramento to the Sleep Train Amphitheatre.

On the bus ride over there was a drawing for meet & greet passes with Brad Paisley and also Dierks Bentley. Sarah won the Dierks tickets!!!! So we both got to go meet him before the show and get a picture!!

Isn't he cute?!

Twin Lakes 2009

Last weekend we spent the weekend with our friends Mark and Sarah at a cabin on Twin Lakes. We had a great time! Lots of good cooking and lots of just ridiculous scenary during our 6 HOUR hike on Saturday. All the pictures are in the slideshow, but a few were so sweet I had to pull them out to highlight them.

This one is for you, Dad. Can you see why?

Chores

There's always a project to do....I've always known this, but being a homeowner brings it to a whole new level. Our kitchen/dining room chandelier was getting dimmer one light at a time. We took advantage of the best handyman ever hanging around and Dad and Justin teamed up to fix the light.
Woohoo! They were so cute!

Last rides

Here's the last of the pictures from when Mom and Dad were in town. We had their bike for 2 more days. One day we rode around Lake Tahoe, although there was unfortunately a LOT of traffic due to Labor Day weekend. It was still beautiful scenery though! Then on the last day we rode up to Virginia City. We just missed the end of the parade but we did get to see a reenactment of a Civil War battle. Only in Virginia City!

It was just great having my Mom and Dad here with us. I truly enjoyed the time we spent together and only hope we can do this again more often. Miss you Mom and Dad!!!

Wild Hogs!

That was the running joke while my parent's and Justin and I rode Harley's. We're wild hogs! hahaha Here's some of the fun we had on the first day. We drove south to Markleville then up Hwy 4 to Ebbetts Pass, then up and over Monitor Pass with a final stop in Carson Valley at the Genoa Bar. Good times!

Krista & Chris

One of my bestest friends ever, Krista, got engaged just recently and I couldn't be happier for her!

Many of you met Krista last year at my wedding, as she was my Maid-of-honor. She was the best maid-of-honor ever, and I mean ever! How many friends would stratigically stash tissues and cough drops in her boutique for you during athe ceremony?!? And...........Krista caught the boutique at the reception, so her engagement is quite fitting!!

Congratulations, Krista and Chris!

Making breakfast

I forgot to post the coolest video from Carmel! Check out this sea otter in the Monetary Bay. I apologize for the sound of the wind, but if you listen carefully you can hear this otter using his front paws (hands?) to smack an oyster (or some other shelled sea animal) on a rock he is balancing on his stomach! He takes a few bites, then smacks it again! How cool!?!

Green's & Huntington's in Carmel

Our trip to Carmel was awesome! We packed so much into just a few days, but it was a blast-- Walks on the beach, driving highway 1 on the coast, seeing dolphins, picnic lunches on the road, hiking in parks on the coast, dinners in quaint restaurants, 17-mile drive on Monetary Bay and hungry sea otters. Justin did a lot of driving us around with all 4 of us packed into my little Jeep, but memories were made for a lifetime!

Double Nickel

Wednesday, September 2nd was my Dad's birthday.
This was the day we loaded up Libby and headed for the west coast. Carmel, CA to be exact. I'm so happy I was able to show my parents this beautiful place. We did lots of touring around, which you'll see more of soon.
If you'd like to know how old Dad is, you'll have to watch the video below. hehehe

Happy birthday, Dad! You are the most caring, lovable, ingenious, dedicated, resourceful, sensitive, firm, funny, down-to-earth, and just down right amazing person. Simply put, you are the bestest Dad a girl could ever have!

Day tripping

Justin and I had to work Monday and Tuesday, so Mom and Dad went on day trips from home. Monday they drove up to the Mt. Rose summit and hiked part of the Tahoe Rim trail. They said it was a great hike with fabulous views of Tahoe. And Tuesday they drove up to Truckee, CA. They also visited the Donner Family memorial.

Mom & Dad in Tahoe!

My Mom and Dad are in town for a visit, and I'm WAY behind on posting all the cool stuff we've been doing. So get ready! Sunday we went up to Tahoe and spent the day on Justin's friend--Dirty Jimmy's boat. hehehe Yes, Dirty Jimmy. We had a great time even though it was pretty windy and Justin even got the chance to work on his land-lock surfing skills.
