Tushy Pumpkins, Evie-style
I had forgotten the baby room at our daycare, called the Cubs Room, has a tradition around Halloween of creating a Tushy Pumpkin patch. They literally stick the baby's bum on a plate lathered in orange paint and then make a bum print on a piece of paper. Evie's bum was so small she got to paint her bum twice for a double pumpkin. I was there when she did this and it was funny to watch Evie's face. She didn't cry, or whine.......just had a curious look about her. hahaha

October randomness
October seemed like a busy month, and November too, but we'll get there. Here's a few of the random pics I took along the way.
The family photo is from cousin Jessica's wedding that was actually on Jax's bday. That was one busy day...

Shutdown
October 1st I found myself without a job when the government shutdown. It was a super crappy feeling because it was not that I didn't want to work, or I wasn't able to work, it was simply that I wasn't ALLOWED to work. Now that's just stupid. Ever since I started back to work in mid-August after maternity leave, I was working feverishly to get a large-scale water quality sampling project up off the ground. It was a lot of work to do in a short amount of time and I had great folks working with me to make it happen. My project lost thousands of dollars when I had to bring my groundwater sampling field crew home from southern Nevada and samples I shipped to the labs for analysis expired as they sat on shelves and exceeded their hold times before analysis. To say the least, I was pissed.

Happy New Year! I'm still behind........
Welcome to 2014. Holy smolly, how did this happen? Where has the time gone? Obviously it was not spent blogging, so I'll once again try to play catch-up.
Justin went to Google headquarters for a team meeting in September. Google is funding him and his collegues to add a new evaporation layer to Google Earth Engine. Crazy!
