Call your Mom

A friend of ours recently lost his wife. Justin and I didn't know her well, but she was always very sweet. She was only about 50 years old. Her 3 children each spoke at her memorial, and therefore the entire of the memorial was from the perspective of losing your mother. It was so very sad. Her oldest son, who was about 23 or 24 I'd say, said all he could think about was on his last day off from work that he didn't take the time to call his mom. So he gave some advise to everyone gathered there.

1) Call your Mom
2) Be happy, because that is all your Mom ever wants for you.

This really touched me and made me ever so grateful for my Mom. It's not that I wasn't before, but now that I am a mother, I understand so much deeper just what it takes to be a Mom. It's the hardest job ever. But the most rewarding. I love you, Mom!

Jax's 1st snow day

After almost two months of dry, above normal temperatures, winter finally found us again. And to be honest I was happy to see it. It just wasn't right having 60 degree days in January & February! I have always lived in a place that has 4 seasons and I get all confused if it's warm when it should be cold, or visa versa.

Jax's daycare were a bunch of weenies on Friday and closed down, so Jax and I got to spend a snow day together. He seemed to like looking at the white stuff. And we finally got the chance to put on that snow suit!

Little Big Bird

Jax is really starting to grab at toys and start to play with them....or suck on them. It's so fun to watch!

Custom Mobile

One thing we never got for Jax's room was a mobile. After seeing how entertained Jax was with all the mobiles, streamers and lights hanging from the ceiling at daycare I was all about finding him a super sweet mobile to hang over his changing table at home.


With some help of friends and family, I was turned on to a few website, but this one in particular was my favorite. Everything on this site is handmade by people. So the designer was able to tailor Jax's mobile for him!


I'm super happy with it, and it seems that Jax is too!

Baby Rolls

Jax had his 4 month check up this week and although he was born almost a month early, he's really catching up in size!

He is now 24.5 in long (2 feet!) and 12 lbs 9.5 oz.

As you can see here, he's actually starting to get a few rolls! I've never been so happy to see fat rolls in my whole life!

The littlest Steelers fan

Steeler Nation extends to Nevada--

I won't go on and on about the super bowl because the Steelers should have won! But here's a pic of Jax & I before the game...we were ready!

And a few other random pics. Jax and I were walking a week or so ago. I wheeled the stroller into Starbucks for my chai fix and pulled Jax out for a few minutes to hang out. A gentleman a few tables down looked at me and said, "That has to be the littlest Steelers fan I ever saw!" I just smiled.

Family Photo Shoot

Growth chair @ 4 months

Hard to believe an entire month has gone by...but here's Jax at 4 months! A full 1/3 of a year!

Our new schedule

Now that I've been back to work for a few weeks, it seems that the schedule everyone kept telling us we'd get on is starting to take shape.

1) Drag my butt out of bed and get ready for work

2) On a good day I wake Jax up or on a bad day, go running to his crib when he starting crying and I'm only half dressed.

3) Nurse Jax, change diaper, get Jax dressed.

4) Place Jax in bed next to Justin while I finish getting ready

5) Justin takes Jax to daycare

6) We both go to work

7) I pick Jax up about 5:15pm

8) Hang out at home for a while, get bath, drink bubba and back to bed with hopes of a full night's sleep..........

9) Do it all over again!
