Family fun in PA

We're back from our whirl-wind weekend in PA. It was a fast trip, which is regrettable, but we enjoyed every minute we had to spend with family. Jax did remarkable well on the plane--it's a whole new experience flying with all the baby gear you need to spend a few days away from home! We packed all the family into my parent's house--Grandma Joan, Grandpa Denny, Me, Justin, Jax, Mammie Sharon, Grandpa Ron, Uncle Rob, Aunt Melissa, and cousins Luke & Joel.

Here's a pictorial representation of our first day or so of family time. We went to McConnell's Mill State park for a little hike and watched as Jax learned how to roll over at home!

Jax is nearing the 6 month mark so we decided to see how he would deal with some rice cereal prior to his bedtime bubba. We've tried it twice now and the first time went a lot smoother...luckily that is the one we documented!

About Face!

This was one of Jax's first times riding in his stroller facing front and not in his car seat that faces backward looking at me. He seemed to like it quite a bit, but it was strange for me because I couldn't see him at all. I kept sticking my head around the side so I could check on him! It does make it a little more challenging to keep the sun off of him...being the son of Justin and I he will forever be trying to stay out of the sun!

I wonder if he'll get freckles, like his Daddy?

Jax isn't sitting up yet, but we like to think he is. We tried him in his high chair the other day and he kinda liked it....even though he slouches to one side for the time being. hahaha.

He's getting dang good at putting things in his mouth though!

Jax loves seeing what's going on. I've found I can get more done in the kitchen if he can see what I'm doing....so last weekend he helped me make some spicy chex mix. :o)

He liked looking up as I pulled spices out of the cabinet.

Splish splash!

Jax loves his tubby time! He's really got the hang of splashing as of late, which makes a total mess in the kitchen. Between smacking his hands on the water and completely fishy flopping his whole body, nothing stays dry in a few feet radius of the tub!

Being able to splash, being all toasty warm, being able to see everything going on in the kitchen and outside the kitchen window and basically being the center of attention--pretty much makes Jax a happy boy!

Rob & Melissa

I just want to give a shout out to my brother, Rob and wife Melissa. Yesterday, March 3, 2011 was their 10 year wedding anniversary. So cool. Honestly it seems just like yesterday that I was in Texas for their beautiful wedding on Galveston Island. 2001 was prior to my digital camera days so I don't have any of their wedding pictures on hand, so this was the oldest picture of the two of them I could find, which was from April 2002.

Congratulations, Rob & Melissa and best wishes for your next 10 years, and the 50 after that!

Jax & Logan

Our friends Mark & Sarah's daughter, Logan, is only about 3 weeks older than Jax; although Logan was a full term baby and Jax was a month early. To date, Logan has always been bigger than Jax, but he's really catching up. They are really cute together. I still think Logan looks older, but that could be completely because of her full head of hair!





















It turns out that Jax is really sensitive to sunlight. He HATES it when the sun shines in on his face in the car or on a stroller ride. Can you believe they make sunglasses this small? How stinking cute?!? Once I put those bad boys on Jax he was A-OK to hang with us outside!
