Krista & Chris

Krista and Chris were married at the Henry Sibling Historic site along the Mississippi River in St. Paul, MN on June 22nd. Krista, if you recall , is one of my very best friends from college and also the my maid-of-honor in my wedding.
Planning an outdoor wedding in May in Minnesota takes some guts....and it was such a beautiful wedding! It poured down rain, thundered and lightninged all morning, which was a little nerve racking, but then it cleared up and was just gorgeous! Isn't rain on your wedding day good luck?!?

Congratulations, Krista & Chris!! So happy I could be a part of your big day!

I almost forgot about the cake. Isn't this the cutest cake topper you've ever seen? It was handmade and it depicts Krista & Chris perfectly!! Krista wears that shoulder bag all the time!

Krista's shower day

I'm in Minneapolis currently prepping for one of my best friend's wedding this weekend, Krista.

I'm so excited!

The weather is just beautiful here, about 75 degrees and sunny and all the plans are falling into place...just check the wall of lists! And yunz all thought I was the planner!

Thursday was a day to cross things off the list and then Krista's shower/bachelorette party. Much fun was had!

Cutest!

My Goddaughter, Ella, sent me this Mother's Day drawing. How cute is this?

I'm pretty sure the right-most red figure on the right drawing is me with a big belly. hehehe
Thanks, Ella!

Pumpkin cheesecake bars

There's nothing like making a new recipe for a crowd, but these ended up being really good. I took them to a picnic last weekend and people seemed to rave about them. Just in case you're interested, here's the recipe:

1 (16 oz.) package pound cake mix
3 eggs, divided
2 t. butter or margarine, melted
4 t. pumpkin pie spice, divided
1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (15oz) can pumpkin (2 cups)
1/2 t. salt
1 cup chopped nuts

1. Preheat oven to 350 F
2. In large bowl, on low speed, combine cake mix, 1 egg, butter and 2 t. pumpkin pie spice until crumbly. Press onto bottom of ungreased pan.
3. In large bow, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Beat in remaining 2 eggs, pumpkin, remaining 2 t. pumpkin pie spice and salt; mix well. Pour into prepared crust; sprinkle with nuts
4. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until set. Cool. Chill. Cut into bars. Store leftovers covered in the fridge. Makes about 4 dozen bars.

Jeryl & Anita

We helped our friends Jeryl and Anita move into their new house at Tahoe a few weekends ago. Talk about an bigger house--they went from a 600 square foot cottage (with an awesome Tahoe view) to a 2,600 square foot two-storey house within walking distance of the beach. The place looks awesome.

We're really happy for Jeryl and Anita!

My 1st Mother's Day

Kinda crazy that this is my first Mother's Day. Baffles my mind a little. But the more physical transition is starting to happen, jump on for the ride.

This is me at 15 weeks.

Happy Mother's Day to all those mothers out there. Love to you all!

Long week

A few pictures from my hell week in Dixie Valley a few weeks ago. We put in 70 hours that week and one night of camping in a dust storm. It really wasn't that bad, just very long days that equaled a very long week. Here's a few pics to illustrate.
Crazy salt crystals forming on the ladder we left out there. Hard to believe there are at least two 3x4 sheets of plywood under the ladder too...

Crazy dust storm blew in off the western Stillwater Mountains at dust the night we camped out. It engulfed the entire valley. Kinda cool to see, kinda crappy to camp in.

And last but not least--the infamous boot I lost in the playa back in February. If you didn't read the story, click here. This boot was tall enough to reach just under my knee and this is all that is sticking out of the now dried mud. So you can see how much I was sinking in with each step. :o)
