Kite flying

As part of his Father's Day gift, Justin got a new stunt kite. Before we were married Justin took me to fly his cool stunt kite.......I only had control of the kite for about 15 seconds before I railed it so hard into the ground the kite would never fly again. Boo. So now he's back in action. I learned something new about my husband while being his kite-assistant...he used to competitively fly kites! I didn't even know you could do that!

King's Canyon Falls

Practically in our backyard, just a 10 minute drive & a 15 minute hike, is King's Canyon falls. We tested out the framed baby backpack close to home for the first time yesterday. What a cool little hike! You'd never know this big beautiful falls in right in our backyard (helps that this is a fantastic spring runoff year).

Roadtrip with the Huntington's

A pictorial show of the rest of the lovely weekend with Mammie Sharon & Grandpa Ron. We took a roadtrip to Calaveras Big Tree State Park and spent a few hours strolling around Murphys, CA.

Justin's 1st Father's Day

Yesterday was a lot of fun celebrating Justin's 1st Father's Day. His parents were in town, so Justin got to spend his day with his father and Jax's grandfather. If you ever talk to Justin's parent's about the kind of kid Justin was, they defiantly talk about how Justin had to be on 2-wheels. Anything with 2 wheels made him happy--bicycles, dirt bikes, skate boards, scooters, you name it. So....it seemed kinda fitting that his first Father's Day was mostly spent on 2-wheels!

We took a roadtrip on Saturday to Murphys, CA where Jax got what I am told is the closest bunny we're ever going to find to Justin's famous "Bun-bun". So Father's Day started with Justin, Jax & the second generation of Bun-bun.

For the first time ever, we left Jax and went out on our own for a few hours (other than daycare). Mammie Sharon & Grandpa Ron watched Jax while we went for a Harley ride. Crazy how I've missed being on the back of that bike! Then we switched and the grandparents went for a ride.

Then we all hopped on bicycles and rode downtown for happy hour.

Walker excitement

OBX, part 1

The first week of June, Jax and I flew to Virginia where we met my parents and drove down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a Cypher Family beach week. This is part one of the trip...you'll learn why it is broken into two pieces a little later. Jax did great on the 2 long plane rides! Lucky for me, he took great naps and had an empty seat between us for one flight. The Boppy pillow is a must!

This is the house we stayed in and the view from the kitchen balcony. 10 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms!

And these were the expressions we got when Jax was introduced to the beach sand. He was not thrilled, to say the least! He liked being carried around much better.

I love Nevada

Nevadans are so courteous!

Mischief begins...

Jax is learning how to get into mischief already. But I had to laugh when I turned around and saw him.

Nappy time

Justin has be impatiently waiting for the day that he and Jax can nap together. His Papa Jack always says that 'a nap is better than a bowl of ice cream!'. And man does Papa Jack like his ice cream! Typically Jax is too squirmy to fall asleep with you, but look what I found when I came home the other day!
