Bowling for Toddlers

No, we didn't try and knock Jax down!  Our friend had his birthday party at the Carson bowling alley (his 41st birthday) and we learned that Jax is a good bowler!  It was so cute that they have these ramps you slide up to the lane and the kiddo and push the ball down the ramp and it's darn accurate...the bumpers helped too.  At the end of the game just was in 2nd place out of 6 people!

Skiing with Melissa & Luke

My sister-in-law, Melissa, and nephew, Luke, came for a visit and to hit up the Tahoe slopes.  They skied 4 out of 5 days and had a lot of fun.  Luke's skills really broke through to a new level on the last day!  We were able snowboard with them at Homewood Resort, which was awesome because I had never been there before. 

Kauai 2012, part 3

This is the final installment of Kauai 2012.  We had a fabulous time, only slightly tainted by our ridiculous trip home.  The last few days were filled with beach and pool time.  Jax played hard and slept hard everyday.  Justin rented a surfboard for a little while and we both tried out a boogie board.  Truly, both sports are a LOT harder than they look!  Perfect family time.

Kauai 2012, part 2

Best family picture ever!

Some may think I'm crazy for posting a video of rain, but it was just the most amazing sound that I had to record it.  And it rained like that for almost 36 hours straight! 

Kauai 2012, part 1

After Justin's conference was over in Kona, we hopped a plane over to Kauai and spent an entire week as a family.  It was so nice to be together and not have all the normal distractions.  Here's some pics of our first few days on the island.  We typically got up, made breakfast, took a road trip to see some of the island and then finished up with some beach/pool time in the last afternoon.  We were staying at a condo with a full kitchen.  They also had gas BBQs scattered around the property. 

this made meal-times so much more relaxed when we could cook/grill "at home".  I think this really helped our daily stress level...sometime Jax can be a little crazy at restaurants and it's just more relaxing at home.  :o)
