Huntington Updates

Just some randomness from this week.  I tend to have weeks on the mind lately...I wonder why?  In case you're wondering, I'm just finishing out week 32.  Jeepers!

My Wisconsin friends, Ralph, Cassie & baby Landon (my Godson) sent gifts for Jax & baby girl this week.  This is Jax showing off his new motorcycle hat.

 

I couldn't get Jax past the Elmo ride at the Walmart entrance last weekend....he can be pretty darn stubborn!

And last night we stopped at Baskin Robbins.  Justin usually just goes in to get us a treat, but Jax really wanted to go and he was too cute.  Justin, I think, like sharing one of his favorite treats with Jax.  Strangely enough, Jax said he wanted blue ice cream, and they just happened to have a blue sherbet...but of course didn't like it and stole a fair portion of my strawberry shortcake cone!  He looked at my cone and said "Mommy share with Jax".  hahaha

And transitioning into a big boy bed.  Three nights down without too much trouble at all.  He wasn't quite sure when we moved his crib over to baby sister's room, but he seems happy with the big boy bed for now.

The things that come out of his mouth are starting to get hilarious!  For example, telling Daddy he's stinky.  But on the flip-side, I wore a long skirt the other day and he told me I looked like a princess.  Ahhh, atta boy, Jax!

Sri & Arun's baby shower

Our friends, Sri & Arun, should be having a baby boy any day now.  Their baby shower was the weekend we were moving, so Jax and I thought we'd just stop by quickly, say hi, drop off the gift and split...but we didn't know the Indian traditions that we were going to witness when we got there.  It was super cool!  Mommy had a special seat, all the women were in traditional clothing, and I got to participate in what I would call "anointing" Mommy-to-be on the forehead and neck.  It was nice to see the focus on Mommy & baby instead of material gifts.

Easter 2013 & Visiting Helpers

The last two weeks have been crazy, just crazy!  Holy Week was full of packing boxes as we prepared to move out of Huntington Home 1.0 and into Huntington House 1.5.  Justin's parents, Mammie Sharon & Pappy Ron, drove up with Jayden on Tuesday to help with the move, and man did they ever!  I was a complete and total emotional mess about moving (heightened by pregnancy hormones) on top of being in week 4 of a nasty sinus infection. 

On moving day, I actually went to work because it was just best that way, and when I came "home", my home was a different house about 3 blocks away.  I'll be the first to admit this was hard for me because my heart wasn't fully in it, but we did this for all the right reasons...and I keep telling myself that.  As boxes were unpacked, we found it truly amazing how we managed to fit all that stuff in our old, much smaller, house.  I guess I didn't realize how packed in we were. 

With everyone's help, we were unpacked enough to be semi-functional by Holy Saturday and were able to take a little trip up to Tahoe.  Jayden had never been, so it was fun to show him "our" big lake.  Easter Sunday was very nice.  Jax was great during the long mass and he really enjoyed his Easter egg hunt in his new backyard.  Happy belated Blessed Easter to everyone!  And a very special thank you to Mammie Sharon, Pappy Ron and cousin Jayden for all their help.  I truly hope I didn't get anyone sick while they were here...

Baby Bird #2 @ 30 weeks

I can't hardly believe this little girl has been cooking for 30 weeks already.  My doctor said this week that we have entered "the home stretch".  Oh my, are we ready for this?

Huntington House 1.5

Let me introduce you to our "new" house.  It's been a busy, emotional last month.  We moved in last week with the considerate help of Mammie Sharon, Grandpa Ron and Jayden.
